The San Diego Community College Centers for Education & Technology Older Adult and Parent Education Departments have created & implemented two major intergenerational projects over the past two years:PROJECT READY, a literacy program designed to improve school-readiness of young children and this year’s PROJECT CHILD - Child Health and Intergenerational Linkage Development, offer small children and their parents, opportunities to interact with older adults in a variety of activities. The overall project goal is to increase the quality & quantity of information about education & health related community services through intergenerational education & interaction, and to provide a nurturing learning environment that will produce mutual educational, social and cultural benefits for all generations.
